About Me

Julia Martinez Mikhail, LPCC (she/her)

Hi, I’m Julia Martinez Mikhail, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California (LPCC 3586) with a passion for helping adolescents and adults struggling with OCD and anxiety. I believe that every individual has unique and intrinsic strengths that deserve the opportunity to flourish. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I work collaboratively with my clients to set goals and develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs. I’m committed to providing culturally responsive, evidence-based treatments, in order to help individuals live life more fully. My clinical interests include providing cognitive and behavioral skills-training for obstacles associated with depression, anxiety, and OCD.

With over 10 years of experience working with children, teenagers, and adults, I have extensive knowledge and understanding when it comes to the treatment of OCD and anxiety and the impact these conditions can have on one's life. In addition to providing care in school, hospitals, and community clinics, I’ve worked in both the child and adult intensive partial hospitalization program for OCD, anxiety, and mood disorders at Rogers Behavioral Health. There, I received in-depth training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), which is the gold standard of treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders.

I obtained a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Boston University and a bachelors of arts degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University.

I’m a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), the Northern California Cognitive Behavioral Therapists Association (NCCBT) and the California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC).
